A parasite outbreak has sickened more than 1,600 individuals, with the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) identifying contaminated shredded iceberg lettuce from Taylor Farms as a source. Although the specific sample testing positive was not part of the initial recall, Taylor Farms and the FDA are investigating the extent of contamination, including whether other batches are affected. The recall encompasses various lettuce products available at Walmart and served at Taco Bell, raising heightened consumer concerns.

Dr. Jessica Shepherd emphasized that even after a recall, risk persists because "this is the reason why we c even after a recall of in that."
