Bibb County Sheriff's Office investigates shooting at Carroll and Creighton Park

The Bibb County Sheriff's Office is investigating an overnight shooting at Carroll and Creighton Park in Macon. Deputies say 11 people were hurt, all teenagers ages 17 and 18. Reporter Madison Ricks said the shooting happened at 10 30 last night and that many of those shot were women.

Reporting from the park the next morning, Ricks pointed to what the transcript calls a 'showcasing,' apparently referring to a shell casing. She said the crew had asked the Bibb County Sheriff's Office whether nearby markers indicated other casings from the scene; no answer was reported. John Stevens, who said he spent the night at the park, described a large high school reunion, hearing gunshots, and seeing a man run past him and ask to use his phone. The report did not identify a suspect or establish what led to the shooting. 13 WMAZ said it would provide updates as crews gathered more information.
